ALYSIA MALTEPES
Alysia Maltepes produced and directed her first independent short film titled DSS-1550 in 2004, which opened at the International House in Philadelphia. Her first feature film, The Greek American withstood the test of time enduring countless sleepless nights (and mornings for that matter). She took on the difficult task of both directing and starring in her first film, and managed to complete the process with ease.
What began as an introspection of her life and love proved to be the impetus for becoming a talented, gifted everywoman, a filmmaker. Her coy ability for deception and language linger throughout. As a therapist serves her patient, Alysia serves her art putting it out there for all to see; no self-doubt about wearing her heart on her sleeve.
Born in Philadelphia and raised by her father, Alysia not by her own admission is a cool and collected individual especially in the most pressing of times. When she’s not writing screenplays or directing you can find her at the local diner eating pancakes and sipping tea.
